Happy Birthday, BAYOONET
20 years ago, Frank Manger and Stefan Becher realised their vision. From the still sparsely built-up Europaviertel in Darmstadt, they wanted to develop software products and drive forward the digitalisation of companies. With the merger of two IT consulting companies, the idea took shape. And on 1 March 2001 it was founded, BAYOONET AG.
“We have grown into a company with three established business units, a broad customer base, four subsidiaries and a team of more than 150 co-thinkers from 15 countries,” says Stefan Becher, CEO of BAYOONET AG. “And that makes us insanely proud.”
Where does the name actually come from?
BAYOO – five letters that have become the trademark of the group. It can be found everywhere, not only in the specialised business units BAYOOSOFT, BAYOOTEC, BAYOOMED and BAYOOCARE.
But what is behind it? It is not a random creation, that much is certain. Rather, the term is derived from photography. The bayonet catch makes it possible to adjust a camera quickly and flexibly. For example, photographers can exchange a telephoto lens for a wide-angle lens in a few simple steps and thus have the possibility to cover different areas of application with a high-quality camera body (our backend).
This flexibility is not only reflected in the name, but is the daily mission of the co-thinkers. We link a wide variety of modules or technologies through flexible interfaces, use efficient code libraries and separate data access, business logic and presentation layer for one reason: to build our customers’ system adaptably.
What do we wish for the future?
At least another 20 years, of course. With the opening of a new office in Berlin planned for March 2021, the BAYOONET Group is taking a step towards the future.
At three locations in the future and with plenty of space for the growing team of co-thinkers, we will be there for our customers. Advising, developing, supporting and above all always thinking along with them.
