Three days of virtual networking and exchange with experts from the medical technology industry are just around the corner: we are looking forward to the second virtual edition of MedtecLIVE & SUMMIT.

Risks in the software life cycle IEC 62304 – tool-supported traceability

IEC 62304 defines a framework for life cycles of medical device software. In doing so, the standard establishes a framework by defining requirements about the set of processes, activities and tasks. Traceability matrices can be used to demonstrate compliant development.

In the presentation, we will show how digital tools support the process as well as a seamless integration into risk management and thus accelerate the approval.

Accelerate the clinical evaluation process with tool support

Digital tools can support manufacturers in centrally mapping the clinical evaluation in accordance with the Medical Devices Regulation MDR 2017/745, MDCG & MEDDEV 2.7/1 rev 4, standardising procedures and documenting them in a comprehensible manner. This makes this part of quality management more efficient.

The practical presentation gives an overview of how the clinical evaluation process can be completely covered and accelerated with tool support.

Als Wirtschaftsingenieur (M.Eng.) verantwortet er in der Rolle des Product Owners des BAYOOSOFT Risk Managers die regulatorische, funktionale und technische Weiterentwicklung der markführenden Lösung zur Generierung der Technischen Dokumentation von Medizinprodukten und In-vitro-Diagnostika.

Seit 2017 ist Franziska Weiß bei BAYOOSOFT, der Business Unit für schlüsselfertige Management Software in stark regulierten Bereichen und kritischen Infrastrukturen, der Darmstädter BAYOONET AG tätig.
Eine manuelle Bearbeitung der Technischen Dokumentation für Medizinprodukte und die Verwaltung der Risikoakte nehmen viel Zeit in Anspruch und können hohe Kosten verursachen. Daher hat sie sich gemeinsam mit ihrem Business Development Team das Ziel gesetzt, Prozesse mit hohen regulatorischen Anforderungen von Medizinprodukteherstellern sowie im Bereich der IT-Security zu unterstützen, zu beschleunigen und schlussendlich zu automatisieren.
